Alpkäse 2018, Steiners Hohberg

Description: Another wonderful, traditional and authentic cheese made on our Adopted-Alp, Steiners Hoherg. Made up in the mountains from unpasteurized cow's milk, and ageing down in the valley, the Alpkäse is firm, savory, nutty and herby (think wildlfowers). After ageing for a year,now in 2019, the finish has a shapr salty burst. Quite delicious!

All our cheese are cut and wrapped on demand. We wrap them carefully in our double lined cheese paper, which allows the cheese to breathe. If the cheese stays wrapped tightly in your home refrigerator, it will provide a lifetime of a couple of weeks after arrival.
