The Cheese Course: The Language of Cheese

Thursday 10 November, 6 - 8 pm

"How can anyone govern a nation that has two hundred and forty-six different kinds of cheese?"

There are many different types of cheese available at your local cheese shop today, and they all have a different character, in flavor, aroma and texture. Not only that, but we all have different preferences and tastes for cheese. So, how do we communicate what we like? How do the terms cheesemongers use relate to the characters of the cheese?

The Language of Cheese, is the first step to understanding the desciptions of what you taste and feel in a cheese - empowering you in your future visits to a Cheese Shop.

The evening will be focused around 4 very different cheeses, which will be paired with  different wines to help enhance their tastes. As we work our way through tasting the cheese in a fun and fully interactive session, members of Boston Cheese Cellar's team will discuss the history, the full character and the language of each particular cheese: the aromas, the tastes and the textures that you will be experiencing.

The evening will provide you with a first step towards learning the Language of Cheese (with other sessions to come in the future), through the cheeses and paired wines. It will also allow you to mingle with like-minded neighbors as well as members of the Boston Cheese Cellar team. In order to make this a successful interactive evening, the number of spaces for this event is very limited.
